NACPC Creates Premium Chassis Pool in Savannah with Operational Support from CCM

NASHVILLE, TN (August 01, 2016) – Responding to growing customer demand, the North American Chassis Pool Cooperative (NACPC) continues to offer off-dock premium chassis solutions with a new premium pool in Savannah, Georgia. These chassis will be available for direct lease to motor carriers using NACPC’s at-cost pricing model.

Effective August 01, 2016, NACPC, in partnership with Consolidated Chassis Management (CCM), will commence operating a pool of 40-ft premium chassis available for short and long-term use. These modernized chassis are equipped with radial tires, LED lights and auto-inflation systems – making them among the newest and safest on the market.

Whether for motor carriers or beneficial cargo owners, premium chassis are proving to be an excellent solution for customers who place the utmost value on driver safety and cost-effective operations.

“This premium chassis pool, conveniently located just outside the Port of Savannah, will enable us to make our safe and modern chassis available directly to motor carriers,” said David Manning, President and Chairman of NACPC. “Although we have previously contributed new chassis with this equipment into the gray pools, this particular solution will ensure that our customers have access to a premium quality chassis each and every time.”

Innovation to Drive Trucking Forward: NACPC Makes 500 New Chassis Available for Member Use

“At NACPC, we’re always looking for ways to help provide access to modern equipment,” says President, Dave Manning. “It’s about efficiency, yes – but the bottom line is increased safety and reduced cost. It’s good for our members and great for the future of trucking.”

As of February 1st, NACPC has made the following additions to their fleet of available chassis:

  • 12 x 20’ and 260 x 40’ brand new chassis added to the MCCP.
  • 20 x 20′ and 200 x 40′ brand new chassis added to the SACP.

Later this month plans are in place to add an additional 280 new chassis with the approximate distribution of:

  • 160 x 40′ to the GCCP.
  • 15 x 20′ and 50 x40′ to the SACP.
  • 40 x 20′ and 25 x 40′ to Huntsville AL, part of the MCCP where contributions and utilization are tracked separately from other MCCP locations. These additions will more than double the current contribution in Huntsville.

“We’re excited to already be showing such growth in our offering in 2016,” says Manning. “We look forward to continuing to add to our offering in various pools throughout the year.”

NACPC Elevates Offering in the Gulf Region & Wilmington, NC

Building on the organization’s initial offering to motor carriers across the U.S., NACPC has finalized deals to add 750 new chassis into their inventory throughout the Gulf Region (GCCP) and Wilmington, NC. The Gulf has already received 100 chassis and will receive another 300-350 by mid-November. The Wilmington delivery was completed in July, bringing 300 standard chassis as well as 9 heavy-haul chassis (which are currently in production with Pratt Industries Inc.). The all-new chassis feature LED lights, radial tires and anti-lock brake systems. The 309 being placed in Wilmington will also feature auto-inflation functionality.

This is a significant development for the organization that, at the onset, solely offered chassis that they leased. With the purchase of these 750+ chassis NACPC now presents greater flexibility to clients and ensures a higher quality product.

“When we founded NACPC we said the quality of available chassis needed to change. With the purchase of these new chassis we’re making great strides toward moving the industry in that direction,” says NACPC President, Dave Manning.

In addition to elevating their product in order to offer optimal performance to motor carriers, Manning also says that NACPC is helping to keep the motor carriers’ drivers safe on the road. “The top violations drivers face at roadside inspections have to do with lights, tires & brakes. We’re innovating in all three categories, keeping carriers compliant, fewer chassis placed out of service & drivers safer on the roads.”
